U.S. Chargé d’Affaires (CDA) David Renz visited Eye Radio in Juba on April 29, where he discussed U.S. policy toward South Sudan and affirmed U.S. support for a free and vital press. Speaking to the staff at the radio station, the CDA expressed his thanks to the heroic journalists whose work ensures the people of South Sudan have the information they need to hold their government accountable for delivering a peaceful and prosperous South Sudan. Ahead of World Press Freedom Day (May 3), the Chargé spoke about the crucial role of journalists in a democratic society and the importance of the freedom of expression.
